What you need to know on entering Serbia

To make your visit a pleasurable experience and avoid possible misunderstandings and unnecessary delays at the border, it would be useful to remind you of the main rules to be followed and the obligations to be complied with in going through the customs.
Entry and transit of weapons
by private individuals in the Republic of Serbia is prohibited, except when it comes to the hunt organized by authorized organizations (Hunting tourism agencies ). Hunting tourism agencies provides tourists the “invitation letter”.
If you carry hunting weapons, at the border crossing, upon arrival in Serbia, the presence of agency representative is necessary. You must declare hunting weapons and show “invitation letter”, to the border police at border crossing points.
Members of border police at border crossing points are issued to foreign nationals in these cases, “Approval for the possession and carrying of hunting weapons and ammunition during his stay in Serbia”, which is done by charging a fee (about 35 EUR).
Cost Accounting and Payment
A foreign citizen may take into and out of Serbia the effective foreign currency up to the amount of 10.000 EUR without declaring it. If someone takes into the country the amount exceeding 10.000 EUR, he/she shall be required to fill in the confirmation form, certified by the authorized customs authority. The confirmation shall be considered valid until he exits the country for the first time. After presenting the confirmation to the customs authority, a foreign citizen shall be allowed to take out of Serbia, the effective foreign currency up to the amount stated.
